#54 Go to the batting cages

Checked another item off the list this weekend! I was up bright and early Saturday morning to go to the batting cages...well that was the plan but in reality I was up at 12 and even then I didn't actually do anything for a good 45 min. Anyways, once I got going I ubered over to Potero hill to check out the SF Baseball Academy. It was pretty far out and in the middle of a bunch of warehouses (uber driver for sure thought I had the wrong address) but once I figured it out it was easy to find.

Not that I'm an expert or anything but this facility is awesome! Four batting cages that are retractable and two full length bullpens all fit inside the space which has a full wall of windows at the end- great space. The guys working there were super nice too especially considering how much I suck at actually hitting the ball.
I may have played softball for six years but I was terrible. I spent the first three years not even swinging the bat when I was up- I was super shy and scared that I would get in trouble if I struck out (instead I would try to be as small as possible and hopefully get walked or would hope that I would get hit so I could walk). When I wasn't a disaster up at bat, I would be in the outfield practicing my dance routines, doing cartwheels or singing to myself...yup stellar super focused softball player right there.
So overall great experience and big thanks to Michael and Richard for listening to me rant about reality TV shows while batting- apparently my focus on the game has not improved over the years. I was impressed that I actually hit a couple of good ones and I would say that I hit more than I missed (just barely) so it was a successful item checked off the list.
